Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. When the website is accessed, technically necessary data may be processed in server log files.
This may include the IP address, date and time of access, requested pages or files, referrer URL if transmitted, browser and operating-system information, transferred data volume and HTTP status. Processing serves the secure, stable and error-free provision of the website and is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Where STRATO acts as a processor, processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 28 GDPR.
SSL/TLS encryption
This website uses an encrypted HTTPS connection. This protects data transmitted between your browser and the server against unauthorised reading.
Page-view counter
WORLDWIDE HELP uses a simple internal page-view counter. When a PHP page is requested, only a numerical total is increased. The counter itself does not store IP addresses, names, device identifiers or user profiles. Server logs of the hosting provider are unaffected.
Language and country selection
The selected language is controlled by the “lang” URL parameter. For the emergency-country selection, the website stores the selected country in the browser’s local storage (localStorage) so that the selection can be retained on later page views. No name or other direct identifier is stored there.
Cookies and similar technologies
At present, WORLDWIDE HELP itself does not use advertising or tracking cookies. localStorage is used for the country selection. External services may use their own cookies or similar technologies after you click an external link or where third-party content is embedded; the respective provider’s privacy rules apply.
External links and social media
The website contains links to external services, in particular Music-for-all-PS, YouTube and Pinterest. With ordinary links, a connection to the external provider is generally established only when you click the link. From that point, the provider’s privacy rules also apply.
YouTube
Where YouTube videos or content are embedded, loading or playing them may establish a connection to Google/YouTube services. In particular, IP address, device, browser and usage information may be processed. Where technically possible, YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode should be used for embedded videos. WORLDWIDE HELP may link to Pinterest and may embed Pinterest content in the future. When Pinterest is opened or embedded Pinterest functions are loaded, Pinterest may process technical data such as IP address, device and log data, cookies and usage data. For users in the EEA, Pinterest Europe Ltd., Waterloo Exchange, 3rd Floor, Waterloo Road, Dublin 4, Ireland, is particularly relevant for data protection.
WhatsApp contact
You can contact WORLDWIDE HELP voluntarily via WhatsApp. Clicking the WhatsApp link opens WhatsApp or WhatsApp Web. If you write to us there, we process the data you provide – in particular your telephone number, profile information and message content – solely to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is generally Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR may apply to enquiries related to a contract. WhatsApp also processes data under its own responsibility. In Europe, WhatsApp Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland, is responsible.
WhatsApp is not an emergency or crisis hotline. Please avoid sending sensitive health or crisis information through WhatsApp. In an acute emergency, use the emergency numbers shown on WORLDWIDE HELP. You may alternatively contact us by email.
